The Colorado Rockies and the Arizona Diamondbacks locked up in an exciting
one-run game at Bank One Ballpark. The final score was the Colorado Rockies
4, the Arizona Diamondbacks 3.

Colorado tallied 3 runs in the top of the 3rd inning. The key at-bat was by
Vinny Castilla who deflated the mood of the partisan fans when he clubbed a
two-run home run. Arizona tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

The victory was credited to Mark Thompson(1-0) who went 6 innings, allowing 2
runs. Thompson got relief help from Jerry Dipoto who gained credit for his
1st save. Willie Blair(0-1) was the losing pitcher.
