Freddy Garcia went yard and had 3 RBI as the Pittsburgh Pirates bested the
Montreal Expos 6 to 3 at Olympic Stadium.
 
Pittsburgh won the game with a rally in the 8th inning plating 3 runs
utilizing 2 base hits.  Jermaine Allensworth led off and started the rally
when he stroked a base-hit.  Jose Guillen stepped into the batter's box and
he drew a walk.  Garcia then lost the ball over the fence for three runs.
Montreal was out-hit by Pittsburgh, 11 hits to 6.  
 
Francisco Cordova(1-0) got the win allowing 3 runs in 7 innings. Rich Loiselle
earned his 1st save.  Anthony Telford(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.
