Jon Nunnally blasted 2 homeruns and had 4 RBI as the Cincinnati Reds won at
Cinergy Field in dramatic fashion over the San Diego Padres, the final score,
5 to 3.
 
Cincinnati scored the decisive runs in a big bottom of the 9th inning plating
2 runs.  Chris Stynes led off and started the attack as he reached on an
error.  Stynes was safe at second on a stolen base.  Nunnally then lifted one
out of the park for a two run home run making Cincinnati the victors to the
delight of the home town faithful.  Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.
 
The winning pitcher was Danny Graves(1-0) who allowed 1 run in 1 and 2/3
innings. Dan Miceli(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He gave up 2 runs
and 1 hit without retiring a batter.
