Roger Clemens threw a 3 hitter and center fielder Jose Cruz Jr. jacked one out
of the ballyard at The Skydome where the Toronto Blue Jays beat the Minnesota
Twins 2 to 1.
 
Toronto jumped on top to stay in the 3rd inning plating an isolated run using
2 hits.  Minnesota had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
 
Clemens(1-0) picked up the complete game victory, allowing 1 run. Bob
Tewksbury(0-1) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings giving
up 6 hits and no walks.
 
'We didn't get the key hits when we needed them' Minnesota's manager said. 'We
did what we could, we just didn't pull out the win. What can you say?'
