Jim Edmonds cracked 2 homeruns and had 5 RBI as the Anaheim Angels defeated
the Cleveland Indians by a score of 9 to 6 at Edison Field.
 
Edmonds was spectacular at the plate.  He cracked a two-run shot in the 1st
inning, delivered a one-base hit in the 4th inning and belted a three-run
homer in the 6th inning.  Anaheim had 14 hits overall, while Cleveland had
11.  
 
Rich Delucia(1-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 3 innings and allowing
no runs. Troy Percival recorded his 1st save.  Eric Plunk(0-1) was hit with
the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 inning and surrendered 4 hits and 2
walks.
