In a good matchup it was the Houston Astros 8, the San Francisco Giants 6 at
The Astrodome.
 
C.J. Nitkowski(1-0) was called upon to do the job and he was the winning
pitcher.  He allowed 2 hits and 1 walk in 1 inning.  San Francisco had a
chance to come back in the 9th but they came up short.  
 
The losing pitcher was John Johnstone(0-1) in relief.  Houston knocked him
around a bit, as he gave up 3 runs in 2 innings.  
 
'Fundamentals, fundamentals, fundamentals' said San Francisco's manager after
the game.  'We lost this game tonight because we didn't follow the
instructions every Little Leaguer hears every day.'
